Lloyd Cameron Whitfield DOB: 07/08/1990 Occupation : Freelance Game designer E-mail: lloydwhitfield90@hotmail.co.uk I have been studying game design in and out of University for 5 years and currently I have finished final year of my degree and awaiting my results. During my time at University I have completed a BA Games Degree. During this time, I have progressed my computer, programming, modelling and software skills as well as gradually building on the qualifications achieved. So far, I have experiences working with customers, making solution driven decisions and at the same time, gained a lot of technical knowledge. Through games development I had been granted and handpicked along with other students, to develop a 3D Prototype game on the Sony PlayStation 4 development Hardware. Through the knowledge I have, I can now live out my creative side. I also try and do a lot of community self-funded streaming projects, where I teach, show off and develop my work. I feel that these skills and experiences, I have gained in and out of university and daily life qualify me to work in all aspects of games/IT environments. In my spare time, I try to work on my portfolio work by creating YouTube tutorials, games as well as streaming myself creating assets for my projects. I also stream games as a personal hobby, streaming popular games from Counter Strike to less known games such as The Cat Lady. I take great pride in my streaming set up where I use Semi-Professional Audio Equipment alongside with a custom built PC. In the future I hope to build on my quality of content by keeping to a schedule to build a strong community and thus develop my social media content. At my time at University, I had to do complex group projects with other students, developing a prototype game using PlayStation 4 Development kits. My job as team leader was to make sure the project ran smoothly, this was done by giving out tasks and setting milestones in visual web based project management software. This was done alongside creating assets for the game. Being the team leader was a great experience and taught me a lot about how to succeed in successfully delivering projects. As you can see in my CV , I have a vast range of software skills which I implement into my daily activities. I continuously work on game design in 3D Modelling, texturing and I have started to learn a basic knowledge of programming languages, such as, C#, C++ and action script, which I have been implementing into my own projects. Keeping up with new technology in game development is important hence I research on a daily basis by watching other game designers, reading and learning on forums and asking teachers and gaming professionals who worked on projects such as Need for Speed underground and Spiderman games. Besides knowing about software, I also worked with computer hardware during my Media qualification and at University. This included problem finding and fixing in various desktop computers. Creating and programming simple computer hardware systems from scratch. In my Media course, I learnt how to set up and work with cameras/video cameras professionally and edit a short movie which I scripted and directed. Through the knowledge I have, I was able to give input to fellow students concerning their projects and skill development. I also voluntarily gave input to another company, this was setting up there live stream, editing images and videos. I also get asked to do small jobs for their company, as I can do them quickly and efficiently so that they can keep to their tight schedule. All work I have done has been voluntarily while I was doing my Games Degree and I have gain experience doing work for a fast paced company.
